Baby It's Cold Outside

As I write this, there is a huge snow storm coming through town and it sure does look frigid outside. All in all, the winter hasn't been too bad so far. I say this, but I don't have to go outside the house on a daily basis and we still have the rest of January, February, March, April, May and half of June to go- so by the time March rolls around I may say that this was the worst winter EVER.

Before Landen was born, we went a little overboard in buying baby gear to keep the little guy warm when we leave the house. Turns out, he really doesn't need that much. This kid gets hot way too fast, hates hats, and loves to kick blankets off. So we don't have a whole lot of options left that will keep Landen warm but not make him too mad. This is a picture of Landen when we tried to put a hat on him. True story:

I have gotten chastised by a random lady at Costco and one of Chad's co-worker for not having a hat on Landen (while we were INSIDE the store, I repeat, INSIDE the store), so to avoid further judgment we always just bite the bullet and make the baby mad by putting a hat on him, take it off the second we get inside and always have his hat within reach in case someone feels it necessary to lecture us about the importance of hats.

A couple of Landen's cold weather outfits are just too darn cute and I make him wear them sometimes in the mornings when the house is a bit chilly- ok, so maybe I turn the heater down, just so he can wear these outfits. My personal favorites of Landen's cold weather gear are:

RAWR!

Hibernating ZZZZzzzzzz...

I am sensing a cute baby in bear outfits theme... And isn't it amazing? Seriously though, this kid will get anything he ever wants looking that cute.

Landen was also given a ski suit in case he ever gets really really cold or wants to hit the slopes:

But in the more practical sense, we do have a handy dandy fleece cover/lining for his car seat that we use on the really cold days. It is easy to put on and helps us avoid having to put anything over or on Landen's head, which is a really really good thing. So don't you worry. Landen isn't being subjected to the freezing cold and he is staying plenty warm and if he ever does go skiing before he can walk, he'll be prepared.
