We had our first ultrasound a couple weeks ago and that was pretty amazing to see. We are having a boy and we are ectastic. The ultrasound confirmed that baby is healthy and everything is moving along great. Baby was stubborn and wouldn't pose for his profile picture for the longest time, but he is Chad's and my child so that is probably to be expected. Here is baby's debut:
The top photo is the only profile shot that the ultrasound technician could get of baby and the bottom photos are of baby's foot, hand and arm. At one point during the ultrasound, baby had his hand on his chin and I looked over at Chad and he also had his hand on his chin while he was leaning forward to take a closer look at the screen. It was pretty funny to see that my two boys already had similar characteristics and made me even more excited to find out what kind of personality our little man will have. He'll probably take after me and be perfect.
I have finally started to look pregnant and I am pretty excited about that. When I was 15 weeks along, I went into Babies R' Us to look around at all of the loot that you have to buy for your baby. I felt like an imposter because I just looked slightly overweight (especially in my face) and not entirely pregnant. There were cute pregnant ladies and their cute pregnant bellies walking, or rather waddling, around the store and couldn't look happier. I couldn't wait to get to that point. I hope I haven't started waddling yet, but the Buddha belly is definitely starting to show. Here is a picture of me taken a couple days ago and I am 23 weeks along this week:

One thing I have found out with this pregnancy is that maternity clothes are funny. Funny looking, funny fitting and come with funny price tags. I think a great business idea would be to make maternity wear, the quality doesn't have to be far superior than regular clothes and you get to charge an arm and a leg for them. Brilliant! But I really lucked out on the fact that I get to work from home, so I am not too stressed out on what to wear to work. I pretty much roll out of bed, eat breakfast, grab my briefcase (kidding) and head to the office (which is our dining room table).
This weekend, we are going to finish up painting downstairs, do some massive cleaning, cook up a storm (ribs, homemade BBQ sauce, steak, some yummy sides and then a quiche for breakfast one morning) and then begin work on the nursery! We have to remove wallpaper off of one wall first, so this should be exciting.
Next week I will post more pictures of the house and give an update of all of the projects we have accomplished so far and what is next on our list!
I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day weekend and takes time to remember the folks that have served our country!
